PORT MORESBY, August 07, 2019: Last week Nambawan Super celebrated with OPH project partners, Lamana, with a VIP Launch to showcase the new standard of executive accommodation offered within the Nambawan Super Plaza Penthouse Tower.

Guests included CEOs of some the largest and well-known companies in PNG and Diplomatic representatives from countries around the world including the United States, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Solomon Islands, Japan and Korea and representatives from the EU.

VIP guests at the launch

Just like the guest list, the Penthouse Tower is a truly international building that features imported fittings and fixtures from countries around the globe, however, locally sourced products are central to the success of the design, in particular, PNG timber which is prominently featured throughout the building, adding warmth to the architectural palette.

Mr Andrew Crompton, Chairman of OPH, shared with guests that the investment in the building was also an investment in the skills of PNG tradespeople.

At the height of construction, 600 Papua New Guineans were employed on the project, many of whom have now progressed to Nambawan Super’s next development partnership project, Rangeview at Waigani.

Chairman Anthony Smare talking to guests

Mr Anthony Smaré, Chairman Nambawan Super, told guests the Fund is proud to be the owner of these apartments – the country’s most luxurious apartments.

“It is particularly satisfying to know that as the apartment fills up and houses the country’s most powerful business and diplomatic figures, the rent they pay over the next thirty years will build up the superannuation accounts of some of the country’s most humble and hardworking people, our members such as teachers, nurses, doctors, police and CIS personnel as well as private sector members all around the country.

“It reinforces again our core investment approach – everything we invest must generate long term sustained returns to our members and must also be investments that we are proud to be associated with.”

Only a few will get to enjoy the new level of luxury, with just 14 exceptionally finished and beautifully furnished units available, several of which are already leased. Residents will enjoy a unique apartment within a secure mixed-used precinct, that includes commercial, dining and retail amenities.

The Penthouse Tower is one of three buildings in Nambawan Super Plaza Precinct. Crowne Plaza Residences is the second new building. Managed by InterContinental Hotels Group, the new Crowne Plaza Residences offers 54 X 2- and 3-bedroom Serviced Apartments and started welcoming residents throughout July. Deloitte Haus is the main commercial building, with 11 floors of office space, and has been operating since 2016.

Nambawan Super Plaza is 90 per cent owned by members of Nambawan Super Limited, Papua New Guinea’s largest and most successful superannuation fund.

Strickland Real Estate are managing all leasing enquiries.
