Assumptions

Projected super balance at retirement:

The projected total super balance takes into account your starting balance, employee and employer contributions, any additional voluntary contributions as well as interest earned between now and your retirement.

Retirement age:

We have assumed a default retirement age of 65. This can be adjusted in the calculator.

Working life:

The calculator assumes that you will have a continuous working life with no breaks up to your retirement age.

Interest rate:

The default investment returns have been set at 6.0%. This is based on the Nambawan Super 10-year average interest rate.

Employee contributions:

PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 6% is the mandatory minimum contribution for employees to make. Employees may choose to contribute more than the minimum.

Employer contributions:

PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 8.4% is the mandatory minimum contribution that employers have to make. Employers may choose to contribute more than the minimum.

Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual for the position of Internal Compliance Officer on a Fixed Term basis, for a period of 12 months. This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Manager Compliance, under the Risk and Compliance Department

Key responsibilities
  • Monitor and assess compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Conduct regular compliance reviews, audits, and spot checks across departments.
  • Identify potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of compliance frameworks and risk registers.
  • Provide training and awareness sessions to employees on internal compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Internal Audit to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with regulations.
  • Oversee the internal incident reporting process, ensuring timely investigation of policy breaches, conflicts of interest, and misconduct.
  • Prepare reports and escalate key findings to the Compliance Manager and senior management.
Skills & Experience 
  • Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting or related fields.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) are advantageous. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in compliance, audit or legal preferably within the financial/superannuation industry.
  • In-depth knowledge in the PNG superannuation sector and it’s legal frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality ad ethical judgement in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to live and work in Port Moresby.
