Assumptions

Projected super balance at retirement:

The projected total super balance takes into account your starting balance, employee and employer contributions, any additional voluntary contributions as well as interest earned between now and your retirement.

Retirement age:

We have assumed a default retirement age of 65. This can be adjusted in the calculator.

Working life:

The calculator assumes that you will have a continuous working life with no breaks up to your retirement age.

Interest rate:

The default investment returns have been set at 6.0%. This is based on the Nambawan Super 10-year average interest rate.

Employee contributions:

PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 6% is the mandatory minimum contribution for employees to make. Employees may choose to contribute more than the minimum.

Employer contributions:

PNG Superannuation laws dictate that 8.4% is the mandatory minimum contribution that employers have to make. Employers may choose to contribute more than the minimum.

Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual for the position of Risk Officer on a Fixed Term basis, for a period of 12 months. This position is based in Port Moresby and reports to the Manager Risk, under the Risk and Compliance Department. 

Are you skilled at spotting potential risks before they become problems? Do you enjoy analysing data, providing insights, and strengthening business resilience? If so, this is your opportunity to make a real impact as a Risk Officer.

Key responsibilities
  • Proactively identify, assess, and monitor operational, financial, investment and strategic risks.
  • Work with business units to mitigate identified risks in a timely manner.
  • Continuously monitor the fund's risk exposure and the effectiveness of existing controls.
  •  Assist in the development and regular review of the fund’s risk management framework.
  • Promote a strong risk-aware culture across the organization through training and guidance to staff.
Skills & Experience 
  • Degree in Law, Finance, Accounting or related fields.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in risk management, audit or corporate governance preferably within the financial services or superannuation industry.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct risk profiling, stress testing and scenario analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information.
  • Possess diplomacy, meticulous attention to details, good organisational & management skill as well as very good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to live and work in Port Moresby.
