Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) featured a special presentation led by NSL Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Paul Sayer to staff and students at the Papua New Guinea Maritime College (PNGMC) in Madang on Wednesday, 1 October 2025.

During the visit Mr. Sayer shared with the PNGMC staff and students on the importance of superannuation.

“It is always a pleasure to meet with Members outside of our major town centres. Our Members in these areas work hard every day to bring crucial services to their communities, and they do not ask for much in return. At times, they only have conversations about superannuation when they are about to retire.”

“Hosting events at higher institutions is a good opportunity to not only talk to Members but also get the students, to start thinking about how they can maximise their superannuation benefits when they begin formal employment.”

Mr. Sayer shared his personal experiences with a focus on encouraging students to embrace strong values such as hard work, sacrifice, and early financial planning as essential tools for achieving long-term success in life.

“It is a pleasure to be here and to meet you students, who are the future leaders, professionals, and contributors to our country and the economy, and some of you will one day be Members of Nambawan Super,” stated Mr. Sayer.

“We are here to help you understand that your future starts now, and it begins with hard work and sacrifice. The choices you make today will shape your future,” he added.

The engagement was hosted on Wednesday, 1 October 2025 as a lead up activity to the official opening of NSL’s Madang Branch on Thursday, 2 October 2025.

NSL’s Madang Branch, previously located within the Post PNG Office, has now been relocated to the Fenske Aben Building along Modilon Road.
The new Madang Branch features highly-visible Brand signage outside that NSL Members will not miss. The Branch includes a waiting area that can seat up to 32 Members, three service counters for NSL Members, one dedicated counter for Nambawan Saving and Loans Society, a private interview room and a separate training room that can accommodate up to 8 Members.

The NSL team will use this facility to deliver targeted Member training on site, including the FREE Financial Literacy Program, Retirement Counselling and general product & service awareness sessions. The Branch is equipped with air-conditioning and a backup generator to ensure business continuity and provide a comfortable experience for NSL Members who live and work in Madang Province.

NSL plans to further upgrade the Madang Branch by introducing a ticketing system, a self-service kiosk, and a solar system to support the backup services as part of NSL’s Environmental, Social and Governance initiative. The ticketing system and self-service kiosk will be piloted in Madang before being implemented in other NSL Branches under the Branch Relocation and Expansion Project, which will continue through 2026.

The Branch opening was officiated by NSL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr. Paul Sayer, with key representatives such as Mr. Daniel Mollen the NSL Membership Committee Representative for PNG Correctional Services, who represented the NSL Membership Committee and representatives from the Madang Provincial Administration. Attendees included Nambawan Super Members from the public sector including; Police, Teachers, Nurses, Fire Services, Customs, PNG Civil and Identity Registry, National Fisheries, private sector employees and Choice Super Members within the province.
