Nambawan Super Limited (NSL) used its participation at the 2026 National Mask & Warwagira Festival to highlight the important role Member savings play in supporting businesses, communities and economic growth across Papua New Guinea.

Through the retirement savings of more than 245,000 Members, NSL invests responsibly in a diverse portfolio of Papua New Guinean businesses and industries that contribute to employment, economic activity and the delivery of products and services relied upon by communities every day.

NSL’s investment portfolio includes many well-known and trusted PNG brands, some of which are located in East New Britan.

The Fund has investments supporting the hospitality and tourism sector, including Gazelle International Hotel, which contributes to tourism and economic activity in East New Britain.

NSL Chief Executive Officer, Lachlan Baird said, “Members often may not realise the connection between their superannuation savings and the businesses they interact with every day.”

“Every contribution made by a Member is invested with the goal of generating long-term returns to support their retirement. Through NSL’s investment activities, Members have an indirect ownership interest in a range of businesses that contribute to PNG’s economy,” he said.

“When Members purchase products, use services or support businesses within our investment portfolio, they are also supporting companies that contribute to the growth of their retirement savings. When these investments perform well and generate returns, including dividends where applicable, these returns are reinvested back into the Fund to benefit Members.”

This connection means that everyday activities, from purchasing household products, accessing banking services, using transport services or supporting local businesses, form part of a wider economic cycle that helps create value for Members over the long term.

Beyond its investment activities, NSL also provides additional value to Members through its Member Discount Program, helping Members access savings and benefits from participating businesses.
